Xmas in July, Day 1: Monster Sweatshirts

We will be doing things a bit diff here for our usual AEET "Xmas in July" festivities this year. This July, instead of xmas themed posts and Santa and snowmen and all that junk, I thought it'd be more fun to give you a post EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THE MONTH (yes, you read that right) featuring something from an old xmas catalog in my catalog collection (yes, I collect department store catalogs too), that I would have most definitely circled and screamed at my parents to get for me when I was just a wee laddie! So here we go, starting DAY ONE, what's on my list? MONSTER SWEATSHIRTS!! And not just any monsters either, but monsters from Creepy and Famous Monsters mags! Yes, as much as I love the Fonz and the Six Million Dollar Man-- it's monsters for me! Always. (Sears 1976 Wishbook)

And please tell me you are going to cut the sleeves off your Creepy monster sweatshirt!! Sounds way sexy:)

I actually like the other one better, but yeah, no sleeves and I'm probably gonna half shirt it too to show of my new belly button piercing! Oh wait, my bad, that's just some Cheetohs crumbs...

Oh man! Cheetos crumbs in the belly button. ! Now my Creepy underwears are damp :)

For me, it's Creepy all the way this time around. I'm not sure what I'd give for a vintage Vaughn Bodē / Larry Todd shirt, but it would be significant. I like the art on the other one too, but Bodē's my fave.

As for those raglan three-quarter sleeve tees, I think the dirt bike is the one I love the most.

A post every day, huh? Damn!

Of course you would pick the zombie astronaut shirt, Mr C!

Anyway, this won't be hard to do if it's just one scan a day without much editing required. If I do sonehow miss a day I'll just do a double post the next day. Thats my plan.

If I'd known about the Creepy/Famous Monsters shirts in 1976 I might have picked them up, even if they are kid sizes, for collectibles. That's just the kind of obsessive-compulsive I am.

Haha, or you could've got em for your son :)
