Hee Haw Coloring Book ('70)

Based on the amazingly entertaining CBS television show that aired from 1969 to 1971 (click HERE for more on it if you don't already know), this nicely illustrated Hee Haw coloring book featuring the art of Tony Tallarico is full of cornball jokes, dancin' animals, country music's finest, and (thankfully) the curvaceous ladies that equally graced the small screen version! So sing along with Roy, Buck, and Grandpa Jones as you color inside them durn lines making Dianna Scott 'n Jeannine Riley look extra purdy for their backwoods butter churnin' chores a'fore the big birthday ho-down finale!

Summer is Over...

I meant to post this 40's Novo Laugh greeting card last weekend on the actual last day of summer (September 21st) but I've been in Chicago... anyway, as "winter drawers" on I have a lot of good stuff lined up to finish out 2013, especially this Halloween season. I hope everyone is ready for spook overload-- and I also hope to hear from more people (the "why don't you write?" in the Novo card applies to the comments section too) --I'm definitely itching to hear from you!

Foil is for Fun

Yes, it's unbelievable, but I was actually able to stretch the foil fun into 3 whole posts! We've seen the results of what you can do by wadding up the stuff into interesting shapes and what not, now it's time to learn how you too can actually make some of these aluminum awesomes on a more "professional" level. Follow Conny's expert instructions and you'll be creating Cone People and Popcorn Pets in no time! And hey, don't forget that the holidays are coming, give those restless kiddies something creative to do with their hands and imagination instead of veggin' out on video games! Give 'em as gifts! If none of this interests you, then maybe you'll just enjoy the cute illustrations and design this fun 50's Alcoa Aluminum Foil booklet has to offer. Okay, it's definitely time to wrap this theme up!

Curses! Foiled Again...

Part Two in our look at the photo highlights from Alcoa's Book of Decorations published in 1959 (click HERE for the previous post.) I don't know about you guys but these foil creations crack me up-- for example, the idea that any kid would choose to make a halloween mask out of this stuff shall forever remain baffling. Also, I can't help but think about how much trouble I would've been in at just the thought of wasting precious tin foil in my house as kid. Obviously it's ok here though-- in the name of art, of course! I have one more related post in the works coming up next... yes, it will finally be time to learn HOW to actually make some of these crazy tin foil treasures!
