Fluke Spook

Haven't heard much from everyone's favorite knuckle-headed trio in a while, so let's kick off March Madness AEET style and delve into one of their more dim-witted, monster escapades, --from the August 1954 issue of (St. John's sadly short-lived series), The Three Stooges #6. Some really fun Norman Mauer art here full of freaks 'n hicks and an extra overload of kooks 'n cornballs. And let's not forget the super lovely LOL cheesecake photo cover on this issue too! And for even more spooky Three Stooges comic book fun, head over to the THOIA Archive by CLICKING HERE!

That's a really good stooge like formula in a comic, where everybody is just running around hitting everybody else!

I wonder if Norman Mauer had Emil Stika in mind when he created Bogus.

Love the cartooning here, especially those V.T. Hamlin konk stars and the Bigfoot look of the costumed hillbilly featured in the splash and page five. The mayhem panel at the bottom of page three is a blast. I'm also impressed at the way XX has improved upon reality when it comes to Stooge design... Larry should be taller and thinner and blonder than Moe and Shemp--though I miss the bald spot a little.

Derp! I just realized I forgot to go back and replace those XXes with Norman Mauer's name. Hah! At least You didn't see my original attempt at misspelling it!
