Playboy Femlins! (PART ONE)

Yes, the Femlins have invaded AEET! For those unfamiliar, Femlins were created by illustrative genius LeRoy Neiman in the mid 50's to visually spice up the Party Jokes page of Playboy magazine. These mischievous female gremlins appeared in every single issue since they were created, playfully, and nakedly, interacting with a wide range of props and people, sometimes photographed as clay sculptures for cover appearances, and on a few other occasions even as live models (see the scan at the very end of the post.) You could even buy Femlins statues and other random merchandise like mugs and ashtrays bearing their adorably bared images! I'll have more Femlins for you in the next post, because when I started scanning them (at 600% no less!) I seriously couldn't stop-- they're all so freakin' cute!!!

The Last Laugh!

Last Saturday at THE HORRORS OF IT ALL, I posted a werewolf story illustrated by the great Frank Robbins (click HERE to see it!) Today I have another Robbins tale that sort of falls into the horror category as well, but it's possibly a bit too corny for the likes of THOIA so I'm posting it here. The artwork is of course just as top notch as ever, and if sexy, barefoot hillbilly gals are your thang --like they are mine-- then you'll be bustin' a gut just as much as darlin' Suzy Bell is bustin' out of her teeny overalls! It's "The Last Laugh!" from the March - April 1974 issue of Plop! #4.

Novelty Mart, Dept. 63

A full-page NOVELTY MART ad from a 1950's comic book is too good to not share without giving it the BLOWN UP treatment. Seriously, all of the expertly illustrated images below are featured in one ad, but everything is so small in print you kind of miss the beauty of it all, (not to mention the eye strain trying to read the text.) As I did with the last post, I've separated the images for maximum WOW Factor! You know you want Sandy with her wavy red hair and rubber wonderskin! And who wouldn't wanna knock the block off'a "Kid Puncho!" And that's only the beginning: remote control cars, electric film projectors, and a Blondie that coos! And jeezo, look'it those prices! Which one shall they send you? Or maybe you'll just take them all?

Barbie's Photo Album

From the same great October 1964 Jack and Jill issue as the images in our last post (HERE) is a cute two page photo album themed ad for Barbie toys and The World of Barbie Annual Magazine. Instead of just scanning both pages in as usual I edited each picture separately and blew them up larger... because just like Barbie's 60's styled hair-- LARGER is always better!

See more from The World of Barbie Magazine by clicking HERE!

Bosconauts, Buffalo Bee and More!

To get AEET's March Madness 2014 Fest up and running, here's a quick / small assortment of cool 'n unusually cute ads from an old 60's Jack and Jill Magazine for kids. Toys, soda pop, cereal themed board game fun-- what else do you need? How about more from this issue in our next post? Sure thing!
