The Last Laugh!

Last Saturday at THE HORRORS OF IT ALL, I posted a werewolf story illustrated by the great Frank Robbins (click HERE to see it!) Today I have another Robbins tale that sort of falls into the horror category as well, but it's possibly a bit too corny for the likes of THOIA so I'm posting it here. The artwork is of course just as top notch as ever, and if sexy, barefoot hillbilly gals are your thang --like they are mine-- then you'll be bustin' a gut just as much as darlin' Suzy Bell is bustin' out of her teeny overalls! It's "The Last Laugh!" from the March - April 1974 issue of Plop! #4.

Yeah drawing in this is fantastic.

This is the perfect example of placing an artist with the right story. Robbin's really hits it out of the park with this one. It's very busy and exaggerated, and fit's the art perfectly.

Had a commenter request another Sci Fi Week theme at THE HORRORS OF IT ALL and I plan to post a short but cool Robbins story then-- look for it next month!

Magnificent! I guess these weren't no Pentecostalists, huh? You never see real hillbilly girls dressed like that outside of comics. Or at least I haven't. Maybe over there in the Ozarks things are different than they are in the Appalachians.

The art was wonderful, as everybody's already saying. I appreciate the opportunity to see these small but excellent contributions from Sergio, too. I know the little host inserts aren't much--and only took Aragonés about eighty seconds total to add--but they are just perfect.

Suzy Bell wasn't just pretty, she was pretty crazy. A guy could lose his head over a girl like her in more ways than one.
