"You Pull the Trigger of Myyyyy..."

"Coke Xmas Pop Gun!" Here's a neat midcentury Coca-Cola promotional item for children everywhere to blow-away xmas with-- a cardboard pop gun! Nice Santa artwork on all sides, hold it like a regular pistol, swing your arm down hard and the inner folded paper piece comes out and catches air, thus making a popping noise. Yep, at one time, soda companies were really this fun, and dare I say "edgy." Most people my age were introduced to this sort of kid-friendly assault weapon technology via the KISS LOVE GUN LP bonus, which by the way, I also still own...

A Santa and Coca Cola collectable all in one, and in such great shape from days gone by.

Its these ephemera items of days gone by that makes this blog head and shoulders above the rest.

Happy Whatever You Celebrate and a safe, prosperous and great New Year to you Karswell and all followers of AEET!

That is a pretty cute Christmas card. I've never seen a pop gun like this in action before. Does it really make much of a noise? Not that the classic corked variety was some kinda firecracker or anything.

Thank you JMR! I really love digging around for the odd bits of unique ephemera, for sure! :)

Here's how it works, Mr C... fyi the guy in the video uses folded newsprint though so it doesn't pop as loudly as the thicker cardstock of the Coke gun or Kiss Love Gun does:

Happy holidays to everybody here at the best spot on the tubes, the Karswell collection of blogs!

One thing I love about this art is it has the one of the things a lot of artists have a hard time with -- drawing children faces. The kids on the outside all have adult faces!

I love the very abstract reindeer!
