Found a neat piece of Louisiana burlesque history the other day, a two-sided, folded table card that doubles as an advertisement and a drink menu (plus, a silly "How to Live on $15 a Week" joke page as well.) That's sexy Stormy herself in the black outfit below, and she was quite the center of attention at one point in late 1940's New Orleans history (she caused a riot and was thrown into a lake by a bunch of lunatic male students at a campus event), --you can read about it all HERE and see loads of great pictures. I'm not certain if big-eyed blonde, Evangeline on the flip-side is the same performer as "Evangeline the Oyster Girl" (it doesn't really look like her to me, anyway) who did her propular, I mean, popular routine of poppin' out off an oversized oyster shell, --but you can read about an infamous onstage ax attack to another stripper (also at Stormy's Casino Royale) by CLICKING HERE! Somebody needs to make a movie about all of this!

28% tax! And I don't drink! This means I never get to see Stormy's act!
I really like the swirls on the Evangeline side of the card, with the hand drawn stars. That's a striking image, with her looking up. I don't think Stormy's works as well, no wonder they were attacking each other with axes!
The $15 joke is an extended version of what you'd hear from the poor comedians that had sets in between the burlesque acts!
Cool story about the college -- stupid kids smashing instruments ARGH that burns me up! I do remember her for the trouble she made during an election.
