Keep Your Spray Gun Clean

Earlier this month I posted some fun art found on a mid century lantern box, CLICK HERE if you missed it, --and now today I have more from a generic 60's or 70's spray gun package. Our illustrated hero below looks pretty serious about following the 5 easy steps to spray gun cleanliness! I do get the feeling he may have taken the gun apart first though. Well, live and learn...

My god, I just had an eighties airbrush flashback. Those things were frustrating, loud, and I always got to do way more cleaning and maintenance than actual painting. I'm sorry to say that mine didn't get a whole lot of use after a while. It's hard to get proficient at using something it takes three hours to pick up and practice with.

Itty bitty rapidographs were the same, cleaning- and maintenance-wise. But at least I could draw in the middle of the night with one. So because I'm a night person, I guess I'll never be able to draw a chrome surfboard girl on the side of a van....

It seems our annoyed illustrated guy has sprayed himself in the face. Maybe he needs the spray gun taken away from him, instead of cleaned!
