A fun adventure featuring TV's animated Bozo the Clown and Butchy written by Larry Harmon and Helen Jill Fletcher, with super art by Ron Dias and published in 1964. This is one of the larger sized, plastic spiral bound cardboard books with a die-cut cover and rounded page corners used as educational game aids for ages 2 to 6... though, these days I'm sure the title of this book will probably draw a bunch of inappropriate jokes from ages 10 to 65. And golly gulumpus, dig that cute nurse on page 14-- OOM-pah-pah, OOM-pah-pah!

"Gosh" said Butchy, "he's awful little and dinky!"
That's the only thing I'm gonna laugh at though cause I love that Dinky's difference makes him special :)
And I'm glad we were able to have some pink elephant fun without including booze.
I love that flying car and I love anytime someone draws a newspaper, too.
Only mildly related: I think I forgot to mention this, but the Smithsonian National Museum of American History is currently exhibiting a small collection of Little Golden Books stuff--including some books themselves, things of historical relevance, and original art. The pages themselves are amazing--every one I saw was far smaller than double-up on the Little Golden print size, done on ragboard or paste, and included much of the hand-drawn typographical work right on the painting. Those titles are definitely painted right onto the cover illustrations, for example. The original work, in water color, ink, and maybe gouache, is just exceptional. Here's the online version.
Very cool, thank you, Mr C!
