Kooky spooky fun from the February 1966 issue of Spooky #90 ...yep, this is the stuff I grew up on, and Harvey Comics really knew how to pack each issue full of great characters and storytelling, not to mention appealing full-page advertising that was much more than just issue filler. Did anyone have the Transogram Pretzel-Jetzel? God, it looks amazing!
Dangit! I've wanted a Pretzel-Jetzel forever! Now you torment me with it once again.
Charming little story - I love the way the moon comments on the action with all those expressive faces.
What a cool Spooky comic. I am at a loss to identify the artist, but what a cool cast of characters. Even the writing in this one seems unique.
I have yearned for a Pretzel Jetzel for a long, long time.
KILLER NEW BLOG KARS!!!
pretzels made with a 100-watt bulb? it MUST be ZENZATIONAL! i never heard of a Pretzel-Jetzel before this, however.
awesome Spooky tale! those pinheads were just plain pinheaded! AND THAT COVER!...
Google has a couple nice pix of the Pretzel-Jetzel, in and out of the box... and notice how the ad says "As seen on TV"? If anyone finds commercials on youtube or anywhere please stick a link here in the comments.
Glad you enjoyed the Spooky tales, and I will undoubtably have lots more Harvey fun in the months and years to come, so bookmark this blog and become a follower too if you haven't already--- and tell all your friends about AEET! Thanks!
I had this one! Brings back memories. I loved Spooky and Casper and Wendy. I look forward to more of these. And the nice thing about them being online is they can't get chewed up by mice like my hard copies did.
Art by Warren Kremer, don't know the writer. Gotta love the designs for the Pinheads.
