Coleco's Donkey Kong Arcade Figures ‘81

We interrupt our Halloween 2019 Leftovers Feast for a quick look at some recent additions to my always expanding Donkey Kong collection-- a complete set of Coleco's Donkey Kong Arcade Figures from 1981. Donkey Kong, Mario, and Princess Pauline were in the initial release set of three, they eventually added Donkey Kong Jr. a few years later in 1983 after the success of his own awesome arcade game. They're only a few inches high, but very solid, nicely painted figures. Pauline is the clear-cut fave of the set, as she comes with a mini version of the DK arcade cabinet!











I found the pic below online, it shows how the figures were sold neatly packaged with a fun backing card and bubble blister --and according to this one-- marked way cheap at Kay-Bee too! 3 for $2.00 is quite the bargain when you see what they're going for these days on eBay!

Nomie and Hoiman in the Haunted House

You're back for second helpings with AEET's "Halloween Left-Overs Special" this week, and if another trip down to the old haunted house sounds good to you then here we go-oh-oh! I don't really know much about Nomie and Hoiman, but I do know that this is a fun little 4 page filler quickie from the January 1944 issue of Lucky Comics #1, though the art looks much, much older.

As most of you long time followers of this blog are well aware, Halloween is never over on October 31st! And just like that big bucket of Halloween candy that I've tried to hide from my kid by putting it up on top of the refrigerator (as if that ever works), there's always plenty of tasty Halloween leftovers yet to be feasted upon! And in today's case, it's a few more vintage Halloween greeting cards from my personal collection, all featuring awesome artwork that is of course very typical of the 60's and 70's.









So, will there be even more Halloween posts still to come this November, you ponder? You'll just have to come back in a few days to find out!

Scaring Up More Halloween Fun!

We already scared up a lot of fun this month with these Jack and Jill posts, and I think you'll agree that one more J&J post will most certainly send our batty brains right over the top! Please don't freak-out on the overload of Halloween spooks, and haunted houses, and wiggly witches-- it's just the October 1966 issue deliverin' the ghoulish goods with toys and games, stories and poems, and never --I REPEAT-- NEVER overlook the recipes for sandwitches and Black Magic cake!
