I'll Huff and I'll Puff...

Oh look, I dug up some assorted pieces to this cute 1930's Three Little Pigs tin litho Disney tea set by Ohio Art today. Originally the set included more plates, saucers, cups, and even a gorgeous tray, but unfortunately this was all I could find. Anyway, on each plate and saucer we get the big bad wolf doing his best to get ahold of a BLT, but the oinker trio, of course, have other porky plans. Lots of colorful fun, and it's all based on one of the best Silly Symphony cartoons of all time.

WATCH IT HERE!

Those are sweet. Of course the wolf saucers are awesome (and just typing the words Wolf Saucer makes me a little giddy. Like, some Canuxploitation outfit needs to hop on that one lickety-split), but I'm really digging that last little cup best of all. I assume the "brick piano" shape is the teacup of the set, so what is other one? A milk ewer? Just how fancy is this tea set? Did it originally come with sugar pot and tiered cucumber sandwich trees? Little white Three Pigs gloves?

OK image #5 (wolf/chimney) is the bee's knees, as somebody, somewhere probably said.

That expression of triumph mixed with lust for bacon is incredible. A real testament to the artist and the animations it's from. Real A+ level cartooning.

I always knew Ohio Art as the Etch-A-Sketch people. Turns out they are really best know for the kind of work shown here. For 100 years they have been a major producer of lithography on metal.
