I've been a bit under the weather lately (and almost underwater if you're keeping up with the current state of things here in soggy 'ol STL Missouri!), and a recent trip to the local pharmacy for some fix-me-up reminded me of something else pharm related that I have that might also make for a good cheer-me-up as well! Eleven super cute, family friendly comic strips titled "Doings of the Deans", as found on an old pharmacy calendar from 1963. There's one for every month-- except January-- and unfortunately, there's no artist listed either but it's wonderfully fun stuff, and certainly reminds me of the great strips I used to read in the funny papers as a kid, like Bud Blake's Tiger, and even George Lichty's Grin and Bear It. Yep, sometimes cute and family-friendly is just what the doctor ordered! (CLICK TO ENLARGE)

Hey the art on these things is terrific!
These are great. You hit it on the nose with the "Tiger" reference. It also reminds me of Lee Holley's "Ponytail". There's something very familiar about that one giant tooth in front on these strips.
Cute! I love the hot dog one :)
My grandma always used to use the term "doings" - like when my sister and I were going to someone's house or to a dance.
I love the art too... say, if anyone has any information on the artist name let me know-- @ Carol: I do believe my own grandmother had some similar doings and sayings as well ;)
Thanks for the comments!
Mr. Karswell
I do believe these were the work of the late Bud Blake.
Before Tiger Bus Blake did a daily panel called Ever Happen for over ten years. You can find them on my blog (http://allthingsger.blogspot.nl/search/label/Bud%20Blake). He also did covers for the Sunday Pictorial Review in color, which you can find here: http://allthingsger.blogspot.nl/search?q=bud+blake+pictorial+take). Based on those I can say this inequivically is by Bud Blake. And a great find they are, too!
Thank you for the continued comments and info! I'm checking out your links now Ger-- thanks again!
This stuff is seriously great, Ger. Thank you so much for posting (and then linking) it.
