The Skotch Kooler

If you're getting in on the outdoor BBQ action of our last post, don't forget the cold (and / or hot) stuff stored in your fiberglas insulated Hamilton Metal Products "Skotch Kooler" --a Petra Cabot design, apparently. And just like the Kooler itself, this booklet from 1952 is a fantastic example of streamlined, minimal design with just a splash of bright color-- a perfectly simple approach to showcasing what was (in their own words) described as "probably the most beautiful insulated container in the world." Me? I mostly just like those funny little cartoon people floating around on each page and having a summertime ball!

both these booklets.

Whoa, that's very yellow. I like the little line arts, too. Honestly, I also really like the cooler. I'd put that thing to pretty good use.

Family had 3 of these when I was a kid, one used for hot foods, one for cold... and one for booze.
