Space Man vs. The Wicked Witch

Marcia Lynn Cox's "Creature Costumes" (Tempo Books, 1977) is 96-pages of "ghoulishly gory, cleverly creepy, weird, and way-out disguises that you can make by yourself with materials that can be found around the house or purchased inexpensively." There are 8 in all: One-Eyed Thing, Demon Spirit, Reptile Monster, Two-Headed Monster, Crocodile Creature, Moon Maiden, and the two featured in today's post: Space Man and The Wicked Witch. (Does anybody else get a Kamen Rider vibe from the cover creation?) If interested, I can post more of these as we get closer to Halloween.

Ultra cool. And heck yeah post more. This seems really similar to Dick Smith's Do-It-Yourself Monster Make-up Book except, you know, I've never seen these pages before today, while I owned Smith's book when I was a kid and can find them online in a hundred different places. Novelty and rarity win out every time.

Absolutely!

So that's cool, 3 "thumbs up" are enough for me... check back with AEET early in October when I'll post the rest of this book (it's worth the wait.) Thanks for the comments, gents!

OH MY GOD. I remember this book. I loved it as a kid, checked it out of the school library many times. I've looked at those pages a thousand times, but I probably haven't had a conscious thought about this book since 1980.

I'll be eagerly awaiting the full post. I'm used to you posting unknown treasures, Karswell, but I didn't expect something from a forgotten corner of my heart!

As a child, my costumes were usually the out of the box kind, like the Fairy Princess or such. My mother made a really cool dragon costume for my brother when he was 4-5 years old. As I got older, the makeup was the focus of the costume, and I did it myself.
