The Haunted Mansion Board Game

All I wanted for xmas in 1975 was The Haunted Mansion Board Game (fyi: I totally didn't get it.) And still to this day I've yet to own it, or ever even had the opp to play it. The amazing images below are from two different Lakeside (Leisure Dynamics Inc.) sales guides from 1975 and '76 that I recently purchased directly from a woman who used to work for Lakeside. There's lots more about the game at the cool Haunted Mansion Collectibles site--- click HERE!

The 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Game looks pretty rad too... never had that either.

Wow! Those look great. I understand your pain, though. My daughter has to endure long litanies of toys I didn't get / movies I didn't get to watch as a child, although I do admit to having more than enough to keep me happy.

Over the years Matt my list of things "never received" began to quickly outgrow the list of things "received", so I guess I still have every right to keep on complaining, haha. Thanks for the comment!

I was really let down by the 20,000 LEAGUES game, but I may have just been ticked off at the stubby, caricatured Nautili. I just wanted (and WANT) a decent toy Nautilus... is that so wrong?

i esp understand this feeling when it comes to board games. my advice: pursue getting a real copy! decades later I was gifted with a Thimble City circa early 60s and it absolutely filled an emptiness within :)

My Aunt and Uncle gave me the game as a Christmas gift one year. I was really young and had never been to Disney at all. I played the hell out of it until it fell apart - it was cardboard after all. I started collecting Mansion stuff about 15 years ago and have both the US and Canadian (French) version in my collection. If you can track it down - it is worth every penny! Great blog - keep up the good work!

I got mine for Christmas of '75 and I still have it, in great condition. So glad that I kept it all these years!
