Here's the last of the classic 50's and 60's xmas art for 2010 from my greeting card collection, apologies for not actually getting it up before the turn of the New Year, but continuing health issues and a painful day spent at the hospital brought on this unforseen delay (so I went ahead and cheated and set the publish date back a day!) I also want to take a second here and thank everyone who has become a friend to this blog... I know it's alot different than THOIA and not everyones cup o'tea, but if you really do like retro art and vintage pop culture fun in general, then you will surely find something to like here occasionally. See ya in 2011!
I always find those "from the two of us" cards particularily touching. "Twos" don't seem to last as long as they used to.
Sorry about the hospital yuck, but this was certainly worth waiting for. Not only do I get to see a lot of this weird traditional Bavarian protestant yuletide motorist vibe, but that "sweet girl" card is scorchingly hot. Thanks Karswell.
I like this blog. It brings me a sense of peace and takes me back to my childhood. Actually, so does the other one. My father, who died on November 28, had a lot of old horror comix. I was kind of a precocious kid. I was reading Poe by the time I was six. My mother didn't want me to read the horror comix because they gave me nightmares, but I didn't care. My father also loved Christmas and loved going all out with the decorations. I may have gone back to the REAL old time religion (Pagan) but I love the lights and decorations anyway. These cards remind me of my father, a rather conservative and proper man with a secret rebellious streak.
wish i had some cool, vintage get-well-cards to post Kars but...get well soon anyway!
What Prof. said.

Thanks for sharing Ghostseeker, your comment is the EXACT reason why I do this blog.

Thanks Prof! (and Mykal), doing a bit better this week but have lots more hospital visits and follow-up in the months to come. Speaking of, I'll be doing a "get well" card post here sometime this month, of all the vintage greeting cards in my collection I atually have more in that catagory than any other! Thanks for the comments.

More on this in the next post Mr C, sort of...
