Well, there’s a good side (5 good sides actually), and a bad side to the 1965 Kayro-Vue Munsters lunchbox I found the other day for a ridiculously low, giveaway price. Unfortunately, the latch and lid side featuring the Munsters Coach are both a rusted mess, (plus no thermos), but still, for that price there was no way I was going to pass it up having wanted one of these my entire life…

I always watched the Munsters when I was a kid, but I didn't know until a couple of years ago that they had actually written lyrics for the theme song.
There's a couple version on YouTube, but this is my favorite:

I'm amazed that any lunchboxes have lasted so long. Certainly none of mine lasted a whole school year. The cheap, thin, stamped metal was susceptible to everything from scraping and crushing to man-eating baloney sandwich mold. Many ended up buried, or shot, or just misshapen to death through ordinary gameplaying misadventure. Anyway, sometimes I like to try remembering which ones I owned along the way, and how they all died (before my mom finally saddled me with a Playmate Lunchmate that was nerdiest, least fun thing on the whole globe, but survived for decades). I never owned one of these, though.
Hey, one side's gotta be turned toward the wall anyway, right?
I never knew this even existed, what a find!
All you need to do now is find someone who specializes in art restoration and undo the rust and damage. Maybe there is an art restorer just starting out on their career who needs the work and practice. No harm in looking around and asking.

They definitely made the right choice to keep it an instrumental
>Hey, one side's gotta be turned toward the wall anyway, right?
Correct, unfortunately its the best side :(

Good suggestion, JMR... I might just do that
I wonder if some light boxing went on? Other than the weird proportions in a couple places, the faces are pretty much right on!
