These educational figure drawing / photography / sculpture / painting magazines from the 50's are full of lovely information-- that is, if you can tear your eyes away from that beautiful Betty Brosmer cover for a few minutes! And yes, there are many other attractive photo features throughout as well (see end of post for a strappy sandaled sample), --and yes, you might even learn a thing or two about drawing from Jefferson Machamer's insanely wonderful "The Model in Cartoons" article... but yeah, umm, what the Hell was I talking about again?

I'm pretty sure they did an erase/cut-n-paste job on the groin section of all the models in this one. In the 50s you could get away with T&A but anything else would get you thrown in jail in order to help get an anti-porn crusader elected to office.
I always loved these 3 step drawing simulations. Draw a stick figure! Draw around the stick figure! Finish! There! No other training needed!
I like this guys art -- it's weirdly angular. It has a kind of alien feel to it, something I can't quite put my finger on. It's like an uncanny valley.

Ha ha, but just the good bits! Those pesky feet need no foundation, apparently. Neat article from a mag I know very little about.
