The Fire-King Creech Mug

Anchor Hocking Glass Company was founded way back in 1905, and to this day has continued non-stop in producing millions of glassware item masterpieces. (CLICK HERE for more about it.) But for this post, we are going to take a quick look at one exceptionally unique design that was introduced as part of their iconic, midcentury Fire-King line of highly durable, borosilicate tableware. So, slowly scroll down, and gaze upon the fantastic, Kimberly Diamond Green Fade. Or as some of us like to call it, "The Fire-King Creech Mug." Clearly designed shortly after "Killer Kimberly" herself hunted down a gill man creature from the blackest of all lagoons, and then slayed it. She probably filleted it. And then she proceeded to make dynamic drinking glasses out of that gorgeous, glossy green hide! It sure beats the ever livin' Hell out of super trendy Jadeite, too! All joking aside, if you say the words: "Fire-King Creech Mug" over and over a few times fast, you will know exactly why this magnificent monster mug means business!

Thats a great find, usually the only Fire-King items I have encountered in the wild have been plain white.

Thanks for providing the link concerning Fire-King mugs. I have a white Fire-King mug with the stackable type handle, featuring the McDonalds arch, a yellow sun saying 'Good Morning' and the McDonalds logo on it.

I don't know if it is worth much, but it is a neat item from a time when such good quality giveaways, or buy a meal get the mug for a low cost, was the norm. Nowadays, the giveaways tend to be cheap plastic.

Once again, thanks for sharing pictures of your finds with us.

Lovely photo of the Creature, in his Creature onesie, sitting in his cup on your dash. I really don't think I've ever encountered that Anchor Hocking design before. But I've had plenty of AH glass measuring cups and floral casserole dishes and branded glasses in my time. Their printed milk glass coffee cups are some of my favorite things in the world (of dishes).

I know this is nostalgia and it's probably not true but things just seemed ... way more colorful back in the day. This is just a pretty shade of lime-ish green and I love the fade and the pattern. Beautiful survivor piece.
