Here's a funny, two-page, Charles Atlas ad spoof filler from The Amazing Adventures of Buster Crabbe #1, (Winter '53-54.) Poor Mortimer though... I'd really like to know what he was doing to get such weird muscle formation in the 3rd panel on page two! I mean, it seems clear that he worked hard to beef up more than just his arms and chest to impress Millie, --but what the??!!

Millie freaked out so much her hair color changed!
I want that mystery top and the skull ring. I feel if I had both of those I could pull off being a Captain Battle villain!
Hah! I like all the mutated images of Mortimer as he's building up. This body morphing, along with the sketchy art and the one-illustration-per-sentence-particle pace, makes this feel a little like watching a Plymptoon. Quite a bit different from the usual comic book fare, pacing-wise.
You can do a lot better, Mortimer, Millie isn't worth your time. There are plenty of gals who go for the strong, silent type, but might I suggest adding Rogaine to your body building regimen, on your head not your chest.
If I knew Brian wanted a skull ring, I would have sold him the one I found metal detecting instead of selling it to a jeweler.
Phantom has one to punch out baddies.
