Here's a gorgeous, vintage poster print example of a 1940's Rolf Armstrong pin-up girl, framed in a military theme as Army and Navy men longingly write to this sweet-faced lady in waiting, her red, white, and blue scarf showing undying support while they fight the good fight a long, long way from home. Who exactly is asking "remember me?" though? The lady or the boys? Or both? I wish I had remembered to post this last month on the 4th...

One interesting bit in this art -- over the left shoulder on the sailor is the strips from his uniform but it still looks to me like he's extending his finger or has wolverine claws.
We'd have won action in the pacific a lot faster if we had sailor wolverine in the Navy!
I guess this is what George M. Cohan meant when he mentioned Yankee Doodle sweetheart in his song Yankee Doodle Dandy.
