This is a funny, and wonderfully illustrated, late 1930's movie magazine article (scanned at 600% and re-edited by me to fit this stupid new blogger format, fyi), highlighting wildly popular silver screen actress, Myrna Loy's typical, daily routine as a famous Hollywood celebrity. Here she lays it all out for her adoring fans, explaining what's really behind the glamorous front of acting in moving pictures. Apparently Lady Loy received one too many glowing letters from her followers, such as: "You go to such glorious parties!", and "You're paid for being made love to!", as well as "You don't have to punch a time clock!", and also "Do you wonder that we envy you?" Well, listen here, you knuckleheads, Myrna's having none of that jazz, see? And here we see how things really are, see? (*shakes an exhausted fist) Why, she can't even go trocing-- whatever that means!

This is really cute, and I love the chic metro art styling. Man, "trocing" is a real head-scratcher.
"Trocing" may refer to Cafe Trocadero, a favorite nightclub of 1930's Hollywood types.
I think you’re right, Doc. The Trocadero wiki page even lists her as one of the regular patrons there:
“Among the celebrities who frequented the Trocadero were Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby, Cary Grant, Myrna Loy, Jackie Gleason, Henry Fonda, Judy Garland, Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Ted Healy, Jean Harlow, and Norma Shearer.”
Interesting history, thank you for your comment!
Fantastic! That's got to be the answer. The only thing I managed to find in my intrenet search were hundreds of typos for "tracing". Of course, the fact that the word is capitalized in the article totally slid right by me. Great work Doc Blair.
I went Trocing once. Threw out a hamstring, never again.
I love the sneering tone of this. Hey, typewriter lady, stop daydreaming and get back to the grind. The world won't run itself! Glamorous movie stars have it harder than you, so accept your lot in life!
Those damn lettuce leaves..... they'll be the death of all of us!! ;P
Yeah I was thinking Trocing meant hitting The Trocadero too - and I only know about it because of old cartoons!
All I have to say about poor Lady Loy is wah! The rooster is super cute though!
Old Cartoons! And psychedelic eighties cartoons, too.
