An interesting review/article about horror films of the day with the focus on women no longer being the pursued victims in terror and thus turning into the terrorizers! Blood and Lace, and Murders in the Rue Morgue are both considered minor classics these days, --and oh my, there's even a kung fu movie included here! But for my money, The House That Screamed is the clear winner of the article, it's seriously one of my all time favorite films ever, and gets Mr. Karswell's Highest Possible Squeal of Approval! What are some of your favorites?

At first I was all like "what the hell man" when I thought they were dissing Blood and black Lace. I have the same reading comprehension problems whenever anyone talks about City of the Dead or City of the Living Dead, too. Anyway, I think you're probably right about The House that Screamed being the prize here, but I have a special place in my heart for Blood and Lace simply because I love Gloria Grahame. And Vic Tayback is always great, too. And proto-Freddy Kreuger stalking around with a hammer is hard to beat.
great post.These films look great.
I don't think I've seen The House That Screamed. It looks cool!
Try to find the uncut original version called La Residencia
Back in the day when horror films weren't slasher/dumb teens getting killed/splatterfests, but thrills onscreen, well written scenes and in many of these films intelligent dialogue spoken by the actors.
A welcome trip down memory lane. Thanks Karswell!
