I'm thankful for many things in my life, and one of them is the amazing art of Lou Peters which graces quite a few pages from Good Housekeepings excellent series of 50's cook books (click HERE for more examples in the AEET archives after you devour this post!) With today's post we get a titanic tray load of awesome appetizer illos: dips and dunks, stick 'n picks, hot and bubblies, spreads, and more! So come on, don't be a bore, break out the fancy dresses and accordions, yank those striped black socks all the way up to your knobby kneecaps, and prepare for a day of chowing down irresponsibly! Happy Thanksgiving, one and all :)

Wow this is seriously fab!
I absolutely love the squares wallpaper and the brick backgrounds! And all the food on pics!
Have a great day! :D
This is a beautiful collection. And so fashionable! The fish quickies woman is really dressed to the nines!
Happy Thanksgiving, Karswell!
Very nice art and colorings, very 50's.
Garlic cheese dunk - I'll pass.
Finger fruits - Do I have to dress like this guy?
Mushroom nibblers - Sounds interesting.
Other quickies - Always ready for other quickies.
Holy mackerel, really, JD? Garlic and cheese go together like rock and roll-- in fact, I can't think of a single thing that I won't dunk in garlic cheese! haha
Hope everyone had a tasty holiday, things are going to detour back into Halloween territory for the next few posts, --hope you didn't take down your decorations yet!
Careful, man...
Remember Winsor Mc Cay!
I have no idea what you're referring to
"Dream of the rarebit fiend" (1902)comic strip by Winsor Mc Cay.
If memory serves, the guy used to eat too much welsh rarebits in cheese dunk and then had terrible nightmares... maybe the reference is a bit strained.
Maybe just a bit ;)
