Chicken-N-Que
With Xmas in July finally behind us, it's time to get back to the regularly scheduled AEET programs, and let's fire up the grill once more-- cuz brutha it's BBQ time!!! Mazola's Chick-N-Que Cue Book from 1960 is loaded with tasty recipes, everything from sides, salads, main courses, and dessert ideas-- PLUS super artwork! (fyi: the last image illo of me BBQ'ing is from Low Cost Luxury BBQ Recipes with Adolphs, 1956.) Don't stuff yourself, man-- there's more coming up!

Uh oh. That first one looks a lot like a family of the damned, all hollow-eyed and happily possessed by the demons of their outdoor barbecue. Or maybe it's just my evil eyes acting up again? Either way, I love them and especially love that wonky brick grill.
The last guy looks like he's got a band-aid on his nose.
Obviously, Chef Karswell likes to grill with a slice of bacon on his nose!
