Continuing now where we left off-- here's the last half of this super 1940's banana recipe booklet (see last post for all the details.) Yes, more delicious dessert ideas, as well as ice creams, shakes, sauces, toppings, salads and scrumptuous sandwiches! And of course the illustrated Banana People return too, this time demonstrating a darker, sexier side to the fishing and tap dancing abilities, with: harassing women, slave driving, choking chickens, spanking, torture, and even-- MURDER! *gasp!* All is not forgiven though, as you'll see a page devoted to mashing, slicing, and fluting those bananas that deserve it most, as well as encasing them alive inside a gelatin dessert! Take that you bad 'ol tasty nanners!

i seriously can't believe these banana illustrations! it so bizarre that they have the bananas attacking things! but then i guess it's ok cause they're all happy and friends again when we see them at the Combination Fruit Plate. But what's up with the Shake Variations illustration with the cop banana chasing after the man and woman banana who are just standing there? Banana police brutality? at least the cabbage that the banana is slicing with a giant knife isn't bleeding or crying!
man - this is really a great book! thank for posting the whole thing. i wanna go make banana fritters with pineapple sauce now! and maybe even the Banana Chicken Salad.
I'm thinking about tackling those Banana Coconut Rolls this weekend, and then wash it down with a Banana Carmel Shake... my last hurrah before getting back on my diet, for serious.
um...wull, yeah - make those, but if this is the last hurrah then don't forget the Banana Coconut Cream Tarts and the Banana Upside Down Cake or the Banana Cream Whip! sheesh.
"How to slice bananas"?? Srsly?
Well ya never know, Veg... some people need help just getting up in the morning.
Ha, those bananas are certainly mischievous devils. I'd think that cop had his work cut out for him. Great introductory copy, Karswell!
There something so sad about a wonderful jello salad reduced to a mere black and white halftone. Certainly that thing should be glowing green. Speaking of green, I had to open the banana ambrosia recipe just to reassure myself that wasn't being presented on plastic Easter basket grass. Halftone strikes again!
Indeed, there were actually two full page photos that I left out only because they did nothing to make said delicasies look even remotely edible. Thanks for the comments!
