In our last post you saw my Pussy Meow, now today I'm more than happy (as a man) to share with you my other favorite girlie toy. Yes, My Merry jumped the shark in 1964 with an extremely fun, over the top Bride of Frankenstein paper doll set. This huge, 15 inch tower of terror comes packaged in a haunted house window, complete with the inside story about how she became "The Bride" (and with photos to prove it!) Our dream ghoul comes heavily stocked with an outrageous wardrobe of dress for every occasion (unfortunately I am missing a few shoes and a hat or two.) No matter how well you dress this charmin' mess, she'll still send a shiver and a giggle up and down your spine!

Pure awesomeness! I would be proud (also as a man) to own this'm myownself!
whoa!
Okay, the bat jammies made me laugh out loud.
When I was a kid I loved playing with the toys best; and then as a tween / teen I loved collecting them, preserving them in their blister-packed mint conditions. Now that I'm old I love the boxes more than the toys themselves. It's all so strange.
she's such a classy lady!
I was told this is a pretty rare toy to find complete... noticed one on eBay going for over $150, although I also saw a complete one sell earlier this month for less than $50
She's gotta be classy, Lala, it isn't easy to wear a dead vulture or octopus around town these days! ;)
Hey Karswell, This is pretty cool stuff.
I really like the scary theme in all her outfits.
That has to be the reason why Frankie married her.
At least you can boast she is no bridezilla.
Tattoo...unshaven legs...fuzzy arms...man, she is an inked hairy- scary!
Haha, great comments... FYI there's one on eBay right now with a buy it now price of $199.00 --gulp!
I dig that candy-apple red hair with the coquettish smile...Dude, you have the coolest playthings! :-)
Some Dark Romantic
Thanks Mina! I plan on posting more of my fun playthings next month too!
Where do you find these things?. Great blog, i love the kitchsiness, which you cannot have now because of the ironic distance. So it was of its time.
Most of the stuff in my collection is handed down to me from previous generations of goofy stuff collectors... aka, ebay, antique malls, flea markets, garage sales, etc. being in the Midwest I like to think of my town as the collective drain where all the cool weird junk swirls around and around unwanted from the coasts and borders until it all eventually winds up here in Missouri for me to give it a home.
I would wear the skull-decorated tam o'shanter today, as a non-paper-doll human adult. This. Is. Awesome.
man this is so great
