King Kong's Komeback

Thanks to the new Godzilla vs. Kong movie, everyone is seriously getting all fired up over the 'ol boy once again. But a lot of people don't realize that Kong attempted quite a few comeback's in his day, one particularly interesting story even found its way into the debut pages of International Insanity #1, from July 1976. And oh how I love The Demon shouting "STELLA!" hahaha...

Rather fond of The Mutations, weren't they?

I think it's been decades since I've seen any "photo funnies!"

Blackula's in there enough to get a guest star credit, and some love for the Colossus of New York!

Ha ha! I just knew that was Tom Baker. Thanks Nequam.

This is a lotta of strange right here. I was pulling for Prince Mamuwalde the whole time--though I, too, think Tennessee Williams is a great choice for Jacques Tourneur's rune demon. The Fifty-Foot Woman can play Vivian Leigh. Best IMAX ever!

It is a shame that the demon from Night of the Demon/Curse of the Demon only starred in one movie, but at least he didn't have to do less than spectacular sequels like the Creature From the Black Lagoon did.

I saw a movie called Son of Kong (1935?) for the first time. I never knew it existed before.
It was a direct sequel to the original.
The Film director goes back to the island and befriends Kong's son.
He's really sorry for what he did to Kong.
The story and effects were rushed but it was still really fun.
The effects were a little claymation looking but they looked really good.
Black and white can really blend in the effects.
these effects were pretty impressive I thought.
They should've played this movie in sth 1970s when everyone was into the 1933 movie still.
I wish we could still make movies like that in black and white.
Big effects movies that are relatively cheap using stop motion instead of CGI would be great to see.
Maybe they could colourize it after if people need colour..
