Quisp Paper Premiums

Assorted Quisp cereal paper premiums I've collected over the years, you know, from back in the day when cereal actually came with a cool little prize inside the box! A puzzle, some stickers, a bookmark etc... it seems like many people aren't aware that Quisp cereal is actually still available, too (I get it locally here in STL at Dierbergs grocery stores), and it's also available online, though prices vary. It basically tastes just like Cap'n Crunch and the cereal pieces are shaped like little bowls. FYI: if you've never seen any of the amazingly hilarious Quisp commercials from the 60's and 70's you should hit up youtube immediately!

I probably love these process color robots the best, but I did spend the most time looking at that sweet jigsaw puzzle. Not a bad freebie! I have no idea if I knew Quisp was still a thing or not--I'm surprised to note that I am losing all my connection to US food products; the inside of my hometown grocery store is like an alien wonderland to me--but I do remember the commercials well.

I'm still going to go off and look at them, though.

My young nephews marvel at the alien concept of cereal prizes. I think they missed out on one of childhood's joys
Incidentally, does anyone remember Freakies? Its mascots were adorable monsters that would've been at home in underground comics. I had plastic figurines of Gargle and Boss Moss. Now, those were great cereal prizes.

"basically tastes like?" Heresy! Don't besmirch the taste that shreds your upper mouth into glistening strips or dripping pain, and who comes in varieties like "with chemical fruit balls" and "overpowering peanut butter."

I love the robots, especially the paint bucket one!

If you click on the highlighted line in my intro, it'll take you to a great youtube channel that has apparently collected all of the classic Jay Ward Quisp / Quake commercials in one handy-dandy place. Enjoy!

Very fond memories of Freakies --which also tasted a lot like Cap'n Crunch. I still have some Freakies fridge magnets, as well as a couple of balloon racers still in the original shrinkwrapping.

>"basically tastes like?" Heresy! Don't besmirch the taste

But it does taste like Cap'n Crunch-- who's besmirchin'??!! lol

More bare lady action coming up next, though not exactly what you're thinking! You've been warned...

Awwww this is adorable! And it's adorable that you still eat it! I'm jealous. I wish there was a Dierbergs grocery store here
