The Addams Family Game (Milton Bradley, 1973)

Another lucky antique mall find-- at a wonderfully affordable price-- and it couldn't have come at a better time of the season either, what with Halloween right around the corner! This is a very fun Milton Bradley board game from 1973 based on one of my all time favorite TV shows, The Addams Family! (Did you hear the catchy theme song and the fingers snap in your head just now? You know you did!) While actually modeled after the Hanna-Barbara cartoon series from the same year, the object of the game (in typical Addams fashion) is of course to do the exact OPPOSITE of what you'd expect from a normal board game --and LOSE! Loads of fun, spooky artwork and bright kooky colors (but not too bright), even the spinner is imbedded in a creepy spider web! So yeah, don't be so quick to jump in your grave and end it all, especially when you could be slipping on rocks, falling off waterfalls, jump ropin' a python, or arm wrestlin' octopi! *SNAP! SNAP!

The Addams' had the best RV on the planet!
I know there is a real versions of The Munster's car, I'm surprised no one has made a real life copy of the Addams custom RV, or even a matchbox version for that matter.

I love being able to enlarge these pix. What a great catch! The box art looks like a real Charles Addams illustration (the board itself not as much). Have you play tested this yet? Who lost?
