Wishful Thinking

Hilarious series of "wishful thinkings" originally scripted by Paul Peter Porges for, I think, the October 1974 issue of MAD #170, (these scans come from "The Eggs-Rated MAD" paperback collection from 1981), and made monumentally even more magnificent by the masterful hand of the one and only, Jack Davis. Thinking wishfully that my hero hadn't passed away this week too, but ever so happy to have a lifetime of amazing art to still marvel, laugh, shiver, and drool over.

R.I.P. Jack Davis... gone at 91 years old, and STILL gone too soon.

Sigh. This is magnificent. I've spent the last two days looking up everything the internet has to offer from Davis' vast output and I have enjoyed that. What I cannot do is look in my own boxes and dig up something entirely overlooked, then add it to what the internet has to offer. Thanks, man. this is great.

The dentist one is what made me laugh the most. But they are all totally flipping genius.

Of course I love the guy standing outside the fridge wishing for tons of food! But what I dont understand is why someone would put a plate with two bones on it back in the fridge?!

I tried my hardest to find something by him that hadn't already been internetted to death-- glad this one filled the void! :)
