Hanover House '67 Gift Guide (PART ONE)

What'cha gettin' everyone this xmas? What? Still undecided?! Well, then flip through these pages of the Hanover House Gift Guide from 1967 and maybe you'll find something fun to give to that special someone-- or just maybe you'll find some neato stuff for yourself to make your holiday cooler and less of a headache. Hanover House was based out of Hanover, PA and like the other competitor mail order joints of the era (see Sunset House HERE and HERE in the AEET Archive) they had a seemingly endless supply of cool gadgets and funny festive junk to keep you coming back for more each and every year. Todays post consists of items from their color catalog pages and are full of really great little illustrations and kitsch. I'll have more from the rest of the black and white pages in our next post (could be two more posts, we'll see how it goes-- plus I'm blowing everything up 300%!)

My favorite art is the tumbling clown. Tumbling clown is cool. also digging that creepy clown fleshlight. Probably my favorite thing in this catalog is that awesome sweater dress on that mod coed in the pin-up wall tree ad. This is probably because I can't pull my head back out of gift mode just now. But man, she looks great! Just like a Shaw Brothers Jane Bond extra or something.

I had the 12-in-one rainbow pen. Spoiler: It sucked!

My Mom had (has?) the little village. Same church and blue castle/church. They're also known as putz houses.

How about getting the inflatable legs wearing the GO-GO boots (it would be a real GO-GO item for leg men).

Dawk looks like either the ancestor of the McDonalds Fry kids or a descendant of Captain Caveman (Or maybe it is Wendy's in need of a haircut).
