The October 1964 issue of
Humpty Dumpty's Magazine for Little Children is full of
Halloween fun, expertly illustrated stories, poetry, and games, in particular the art from
Dan Lawler who also did the amazing cover. When I was a kid there was nothing better! I'll have more highlights from another classic
HD Halloween issue later this month too.

Very Cool!
Why does the fairy princess get first prize in the costume contest if she's not wearing a costume? It's because she's hot. This is the story of my whole damned life. Losing every Halloween contest I've ever entered wearing a hundred dollars worth of handmade masks or painstaking makeup (or whatever) to some chick in a bikini and store-bought bunny tail. Sheesh.
Dan Lawler is phenomenal! The first page of the poem, the two-tone light green illustration, is pure magic. I liked the poem, too.
Looks like it would still be fun to have this!
Thanks for the comments, as mentioned I'll have more from another great 60's Humpty Dumpty Halloween issue later this month!
