Monsters, Ghouls, & Assorted Creeps

In 1965, someone named Paula presented this "horribly funny stationary pad for writing to that certain SOMETHING in your life!" --and for only 59 cents too! Featuring kookily captioned pictures of famous (and not so famous) monsters, ghouls, and assorted creeps, this screaming pad of terror was definitely something to writhe home about! Who can name all 12 monstrosities and from whence where they came? There could be a perfectly putrid prize involved...

these are awesome but i'm surprised to see what appears to be Channing Pollock in his bird mask from "Judex"! Conrad Veidt as BatDrac? the Aztec Mummy a vampire?
PITCH? off the scope!

I think I'm going to print some of these off and use them. Love that "I just washed my face and can't do a thing with it!" Ha-ha. Get to be my age and you have to sneak up on a mirror.

Yes people, by all means print these out and start mailing them to all your bestest fiends! I'm glad the Prof mention a couple of these but there are a few others that even I don't know. Who's gonna win the special AEET prize on this post by naming everything?

Hey, I didn’t even see this one before somehow. I guess it’s because I am struggling to catch up with everything after a week-long vacation. Anyway, here my guesses, some of which are pretty strange:

1) Lon Chaney as the Hunchback of Notre Dame. 2) The guy in the bird-head mask from Judex. 3) Chaney again as the “vampire” in London After Midnight. 4) El Diablo from the Mexican movie Santa Claus. 5) John Barrymore as Mr. Hyde. 6) Okay, this is one of those weird ones. I think this is Max Schreck from Nosferatu, only in a negative print with hair and other details drawn on to make him look like a witch. 7) Mr. Chaney yet again from the Phantom of the Opera (he is also on the cover!). 8) Another weirdly defaced picture, but judging by the hands I would say it’s Boris Karloff, and judging by the ripped-up sleeves I’m going with Bride of Frankenstein. 9) I don’t think this is a mummy--it’s not dirty enough, for one thing—so because of the obviously unwrapped face and that “pantaloons look” I’m going to go with Christopher Lee from the beginning of Curse of Frankenstein--before the creature is unwrapped. 10) Conrad Veidt from the Man Who Laughs, but dolled up like a Mardi Gras float. 11) Okay, I’ve wracked my brains but I can’t think of anything. That’s not Laughton or Lorre and that’s not James Arness. I’m embarrassed because mad science movies are my faves. Please tell me I haven’t missed something super obvious. 12) Tor Johnson from Night of the Ghouls.

Okay, we had two people actually make attemtps to name these monsters, most notably Mr. C (although The Prof is probably correct with the vampiric Aztec Mummy), still not 100% sure about the "Broom Tune-U" page, though I believe Cavin is correct with the blue coffined mummy actually being Hammer's Frankenstein with a different face.

So between the two commentors I think we answered all of the others correctly except for the "Crazy Doctor" page.. anybody got a clue?

In the meantime, The Prof and Mr. C both get consolation prizes for their efforts (hey, I said this was a contest, remember?) Email me your mailing addresses, chums, and your pack will be sent out directly. If anyone can fill in the remaining blanks there is still one more prize to be given away. Thanks!

Damn! La Momia Azteca! I should have recognized that weird v-shaped mouth (and I admit that I found the spray of prom queen shoulder feathers a stumper at the time). Good job Prof!

My only excuse for the desperate Max Schreck answer is that the nose and upper lip look reasonably similar, and that they've obviously taken such pains to white out the eyebrows. That and you can see bits of Nosferatulike ears under the fake hair.

Since submitting my answers, I've been combing the internet looking for corroboration. I haven't found it in exactly those areas I wanted it the most (including with Christopher Lee--but I can't find a better answer, either). I still have no idea who the actors or the movie is for the Mad Science picture. It's beginning to irritate me.
