Back in July I featured a post (here) on some of my favorite signs around St. Louis, and today I have a few more. Some of these fall outside the actual jurisdiction of STL city, some being as near as Jefferson County, and in the case of Carl's Supermarket and the Old Time Photos "Mad Muffler Man" as far away as Lake of the Ozarks. I was lucky to get the Phil's Bar-B-Q sign photo when I did, as apparently something has happened to it and it's been replaced with a far less interesting sign.

Ahhh, the Motel Duplex on Watson... did they tear the whole place down, or just the sign?
Wow, Hitler's MAGIC dummy up there is creepy as heck. And I love Leah's wavy department store arrow. Bet it looks awesome when the neon's going.
they "improved" the sign, and it suxxx!! all of those lovely signs have been reduced to nothing. i really can't imagine why they do it. phil's bbq, WHY WHY WHYYY????!!!!
These are awesome dude! Where's the Coke clock thing?

William Gaines would indeed be proud of that. Actually, Alfred E is just waving to passing cars.
>phil's bbq, WHY WHY WHYYY????!!!!
good question... the sign they have up now is just flat out BORING. I hope someone didn't throw a rock through the old one or something, but it's seriously the ONLY reason I can think of why someone would replace it with what they have now. Big. Bummer.

The Coke clock thing is somewhere off hwy 44 out passed Pacific MO, but maybe not as far a Grey Summit. I was trying to remember exactly but I took this over a year ago and now forget. You can see it from the highway though.
Rent a Flick is easily the most terrifying place I have ever seen in my life. My opinion is that it is one of Hell's portals.

It's waaaay out in the middle of rural nowhere too... and judging by the condition and upkeep of the place they probably never made it beyond the beta tape rental phase. Actually, I'm pretty sure they only rented snuff films.

(shivers) They probably make their own films inside. (shivers again).
