Over-the-top monster musical hilarity from the Nov. '71 "HORROR" issue of National Lampoon Magazine Vol. 1, No. 20. I love the comic stuff that NL produced like this that collaged original photography and other cut / paste picture elements into one... and I dedicate it to all my classic shock rock 'n roller friends out there.

The Disrespectful Summons by Edward Gorey
Edward Gorey needs no introduction, and his inclusion here during AEET's "Skipping September Fest" requires no further explaination either. From the Nov. 1971 "HORROR" issue of National Lampoon Magazine Vol. 1 No. 20 (we'll be looking at more from this issue in our next few posts too!) And wow, we finally broke 100 "followers" as well, --thanks to everyone!

If Real People Needed to Use... "The Exorcist"
Another Exorcist entry from the August 1974 issue of Crazy #6, this time in a surreally photographed, National Lampoon style format, and from Bill Skurski's Cloud Studio Production team-- hey while we're at it, click HERE for tons more info about all the super insanely awesome work they did back in the day too!
Lots more from AEET on the way as well-- stay tombed!

The Worsted Monster by Edward Gorey (a play!)
That's right-- why just sit around freezing with boredom all winter when instead while trapped indoors you could be theatrically productive and putting on your own tiny stage productions! And we can't think of a better way to kick off your homespun DIY season of live performances than with The Worsted Monster, written by Edward Gorey. Efficiency is key as the script is thankfully only 2 pages long, and meanwhile, your visual budget is next to nothing as you will also already have everything required: full color back-drops / sets / scenery, props, and yes, even the actors already in costume --just cut everything out with scissors and manipulate them around on a table or windowsill-- however / wherever you find fit (see more helpfully hilarious production notes located at the end of the script.)
And all of this comes courtesy of the June 1974 "Rainy Day Sunday Funbook Issue" of National Lampoon Magazine-- why, even the cover art is by Edward Gorey too!

Sex Education Class
We all remember high school Sex Ed class, right? Was it anything like today's story? I don't know about you, but we didn't separate the boys and girls for two completely different talks, in two different rooms-- we just watched some creaky old film, and giggled over most of the stuffy, outdated proceedings anyway! So, for you out there reading this, maybe things were more like the one as depicted in the Oct '74 issue of National Lampoon Magazine Vol. 55... and if it was, tell us about it! I rounded out the post with a few other jaw droppingly hysterical (and questionable) images from the same issue. Okay, I've been warning you about this post all week, so don't blame me if you wandered back here looking' for cutsie cookbook art or xmas cards! :P

Major League Sluts '74 **ADULTS ONLY!**
If you saw my recent, diseased post over at THE HORRORS OF IT ALL (HERE!), then you already know of my plan to post more from the wonderfully offensive October 1974 issue of National Lampoon Magazine Vol. 55. And this titillating twist on Major League Baseball cards couldn't be more so! I'm sure some of you will hate me for this, but sorry guys 'n gals, if you don't have a sense of humor, then you have no business visiting this blog in the first place!
More from this issue up next too!

Dr. Jekyll's Surgical Supply Catalogue
Glorious old time oddball hilarity from the excellent November 1971 issue of National Lampoon Magazine Vol. 1, #20 ...plus a handy / funny one-page S/F chart from Gahan Wilson, (aka the King of the Oddballs), who also illustrated this issue's great "HORROR" cover art.

SEX
It's been about a year since we delved into the bawdy back-issue barrel of National Lampoon bad taste... last time we saw some hilarious highlights from a great "horror" issue, (check the archive!), and now this time around we're looking at SEX from the July 1977 issue! So once again, if you're easily offended by things like mild nudity, premature ejaculation, muff diving, and Dirty Duck, then you may want to skip the next few posts and come back later this week-- we don't call this blog "and EVERYTHING else too" for nothing! ;) A little bit more from this issue in our next post too!
