That Darn Christmas

A cool Holiday Fun Book from 1965, I guess it was a give-away item at Penney's stores sometime in 1965 as it's also a promotional tool for Disney's upcoming That Darn Cat film released that year. Packed full of popular Disney cartoon cats and rat action, plus other bits of bonus holiday craft fun (a litterbox screen for kitty!), games, stories, rules-- man, I'm seriously ready to stuff my face with marshmallow pussy cats!

While some of us enjoy spending the holidays at home with our loved ones, some of us just need to get away and do our own thing-- so for anyone looking for something different, I highly recommend this quaint, little vacation getaway!

Christmas Magic

A potpourri of xmas tips for home and gifts, courtesy of this magical little booklet from "Scotch" brand tapes and "Sasheen" brand ribbon (1959.) I especially love the red, white, and blues wrapping paper on the present directly under the blonde girl with pigtails in the "Magic Bow" 2-page spread, and of course the choo-choo train themed design puffing away up on dad's shelf. There are lots of really great ideas here, and we'd love to hear from anyone that attempts any of these! I for one will most definitely NOT be decorating the bathroom wastebasket though!

SUPERCATS '77

From the pages of England's Spellbound magazine for girls (click HERE for more from this issue posted last month), comes the wild, interplanetary escapades of the sexy space SUPERCATS! Great artwork by Enrique Badía Romero-- apparently the SUPERCATS were so popular they had their own secret club and everything! I have a few more of these mags around here somewhere, if anyone's interested in seeing more just drop me a line. Be sure to google Romero's name for lots more too!

Ten P.M. Cook Book (PART TWO)

Away we go with part two of Tye Gibson art highlights from the Good Housekeeping Ten P.M. Cook Book dated 1958 (check our last post HERE for part one.) This is the second half of the book and features chapters full of specific recipes and ideas for: girls, teens, gentlemanly stag parties, refrigerator readies, and quick whip-ups when those unexpected type guests suddenly decide to drop in! It's a great little booklet and comes highly recommend-- oh, and its got a few nice color photos scattered about as well-- I've included some of those for you too.
