"Receive-Ease" vs. Shade-Pull

Here are two examples of mundane, vintage product made more fun and attractive with nice packaging design. Simple, clean color combinations are always a wise choice, not to mention that adding a photo or illustration of a cute girl always helps too! So what would the modern day equivalent of "Receive-Ease" look like for everyone's smart phone? And I also hope that's not blood on the Shade-Pull package! Pull it down quick before the neighbors see what you've done!!!

Aa always, cool advertising art but man, I don't feel "receive-ease" is going to live up to the box hype. That feels like it's just going to fall off with any movement, or no movement at all, or when screaming at Northland Car & Truck Leasing for some reason.

And that little sponge? This also does not feel comfortable!

I wonder if this was a give-away for companies that had their logos printed on it?

Now-a-days just get a cheap bluetooth ear piece!

I've seen many a shoulder rest for a telephone handset, but never one with a business ad printed on it before. That's pretty wild. And never one with this design, either. I never really warmed to using them, even back in my teenage years when I might've actually talked on a telephone for long periods of time. There was little ability to shift position--headset pinched between a constant shrug and my cricked neck--so after ten minutes these things seemed like a torture device. Course, I never had to use a typewriter while phoning, either.

They are both lovely boxes, of course. I like that pearl necklace lady's utter delight as he manhandles the blinds at her gala event or whatever. She's into it!

The Receive-Ease is ephemera in more ways than one- it is something designed for the old black phones from the seventies and earlier, and Northland's phone number has two letters at the beginning. It has been a long time since I have seen a phone number listed like that, outside of a Simpsons episode (Dial KL5-0000, the joke goes over the head of the smart phone generation.)
My late father used to sell office supplies and I think this was one of the items his company offered.

For the Shade Pull, the lady is a little too enthusiastic. Her amazed and pleased expression on her face, trying to convince us this is the greatest expression since sliced bread-
-tone it down, Ma'am! It isn't life changing, especially not for only a measly dime.
