Cold Drinks for a Hot Day

We currently have an unbearable heat index of 111 degrees here in STL MO, so while I finish preparing a larger post I had planned for tomorrow, let's see if we can cool ourselves down a wee bit with some thirst quenching ice cold drink recipes from the same Childcraft "Make and Do" book (1964) that I shared images from a few posts ago. Illustration by John Bolt again too!

Now--CHILL OUT!

Wow, it's currently sitting at a balmy 59 degrees up here in Canada. If you send a few warm degrees up here, I'll gladly send some cool ones down to you! :P

I always love spot color illustrations! I love them just about as much as I do not love summers on the Eastern Seaboard.

Send away, Wendy, we could definitely use a nice Canadian breeze for sure!

What's the temp there, Mr C?

Well, in Greensboro, NC, it's 91 right now, seventy percent humidity. Both things are down ten from yesterday's numbers at this time. Meanwhile, in Lima, Peru (where I will be after about nine thirty tomorrow night), the temp is 67, and I don't have the humidity number, but I assume it's high. It's gonna be nice to go from summer to winter tomorrow, even if it is a mild winter.
