As promised, here we go with an entire month of vintage Valentine card art from the Karswell Kollection! And take a tip from our cute little Native American friend below, there's a "heap big lot" of these colorful classics to come; I'll probably break them down into sets of a dozen or so per post-- so hold onto your hearts for a red hot, corking good time in February 2012!

Oh man that astronaut is great! (And the only possible imaginable thing that could have taken top honors from that awesome pink devil girl today. Seriously, she needs her own Sunday comic.)
I'm a bit partial to the Astro Kid card myself, Mr C... it looks like it has a signature as well, wanna take a stab at who it could be? Pretty sure I know who it is.
Well I've never been particularly good at this and I can't really tell how old the card is. If it's no earlier than the seventies, I guess it could be John Pound, right? The boy's face, and also the dog, are both pretty Poundy. Of course, it looks a lot like Kelly Freas, too, Especially in the transparent bubbles. But in the Jack Davisy clothing details it looks like it could even be Will Elder. Yeah I got no idea.
That one with the little girl in the tub is slightly disturbing by todays standards! I think that is the #1 reason I love old illustrations. They are all a little off, like the Indian girl and the Hillbilly moonshine kid! I love it!
Wait'll you see the hot dog cards I have coming up later this month!
My favorite is the last one with the girl yackety-yacking. Thanks for these.
My pleasure Dan, lots more on the way.
adorable!
My guess is its Pete Hawley.
Killer kards!
He totally left me hanging forever, didn't he Drazen?
He Did! Its like he never asked or something:-)
Sorry!! Forgot all about this as I continued adding V-Day updates! But yeah, it's Hawley.
Okay, continue talking behind my now, haha...
Karswell sure is cool, isn't he Drazen? And thank you both for the name. He's an artist I'm totally familiar with but whose name, and range, I did not know. You've opened up a new thing for me.
