Wheakies

Some of you might remember the $illy $avers Bite Beer Can Bank I posted a few months ago HERE!. Well, guess what? Yep, holy feedbags I found another one! This time the spoof is aimed at Wheaties cereal and features more hilarious Wacky PackagesMad Magazine-esque style satire and art. Boy, if only I had enough money to actually fill up even one of these banks!

  1. It's in excellent shape for being nearly 40 years old!

I had to laugh at that "contains up to 25% food" bit... back in 1981, it was a silly joke and it worked -- because the idea of anyone buying something that was only 25% food was disgusting and ludicrous! But it was a very similar-yet-NOT-jokey sentiment on certain foods TODAY that really turned me off of buying frozen meat. When you pick up a package of plain old frozen chicken breasts, and they LOOK like chicken breasts, but the label says things like, "Contains 15% meat protein"...... I mean, it's supposedly a chicken breast, so WTF is the other 85%!?!? You're really selling this and expecting people to eat it?? O_o

TBH, if given a choice between the two, I think I'd probably take the Wheakies! ;P

  2. I'm pretty sure my choice of all time favorite food would be cereal no matter what-- though it definitely wouldn't be Wheaties! Unless they added chocolate or marshmallows or something...

  3. Man, this one's great. I think I liked the horse food joke best, but I laughed at everything. I know this probably dates me, but I'm a little smitten by the fact that this cereal box spoof is shaped like a classic Nestle Quick container. Mixes instantly with milk!

  4. I was never one for marshmallows in cereal, but I'm not ashamed to admit it: Right now there's a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch in my pantry, and yesterday I watched 5 hours of Scooby Doo while I put up Christmas decorations.

Who says you ever have to grow up completely, lol!

  5. >I was never one for marshmallows in cereal

Man, I could eat a whole bowl of nothing BUT marshmallows! I some Count Chokula last month and continue to do what I've done ever since I was a little kid: eat all the cat food pieces first and save the marshmallows for last.

    >cereal box spoof is shaped like a classic Nestle Quick container

Haha, I didn't even think about that but yeah, it's definitely more Quik tin shaped than cereal box. Still hoping to find a vampire themed Blood Flavored LAB bank... there's one on eBay but it's $35.00 --especially considering I've only been paying $10 for these when I find them, which seems more correctly priced for what it is.

If only you had somewhere to save money...

  9. The cop and the lady are the best part of this illustration, I love their expressions and wild, spider-like arms. Really expressive for such a small size!
