Well, our power went out during another major midwest storm on the afternoon of July 4th, so apologies, I haven't had much time to put a proper AEET post together. But alas, a few days later the electric is finally back on here now (as of like 15 minutes ago, seriously whew!), and as long as I was logged in and updating THOIA, I wanted to get something cool posted here quickly in the meantime as well. I stumbled upon this fab image in an old 1940's LIFE Magazine back issue, and luck be damned, the exact issue number and date unfortunately has gone amiss from my notes. So after a few grueling days minus AC and streamin' TV, a cute Wint-O-Green gal snowskiing in a bikini with dreams of a Palm Beach getaway seemed like the perfect post subject.
Glad you got your AC back. I decided long ago if I ever lost my air conditioning again due to a power outage I would stay in a hotel, and to heck with the cost of a hotel room!
ReplyDeleteThe snow bunny is ready for two seasons, winter and summer. All she has to do is pick one, or spend a few weeks in the states near the Rockies- snow on the mountains, warm weather in the valleys.
That’s the one thing I miss about living in Southern California —you could drive up into the mountains and see some snow, and then drive back down to the beach on the same day for the opposite seasonal affect
DeleteWhat an amazing pic! With the size of those little tree-shrubs it’s almost giving 40-foot woman vibes. The much needed bikini-clad snow bunny sequel?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on that sweet sweet WiFi and AC!
“She was tall, she was hiiiigh…”
DeleteAargh, sorry to hear about your power. I hope you were sleeping in the car. with the AC blasting.
ReplyDeleteAround here we're still enjoying spring temps--along with the rainy season--but that'll end any day now and the thermometer will explode until November, roughly.
But if the power went off the dehumidifiers would stop and then we'd all drown.
