Here's a cute little story about a boy and his dog attempting to capture Santa on xmas eve, --and with that ensnaring string formation, is the boy actually using witchcraft?! Haha hoho, this is some perfectly welcome page filler with gorgeous holiday art and from an old Fuller Brush Company catalog. (We'll see more from this catalog in our next post as well.)
Damn, that is great art. All of it is so exceptional that I can't really pick out a favorite bit. Maybe that kid's smug face in the last image? Those sibs are going to find him pretty insufferable from now on.
ReplyDeleteI'm not touching any glowing string that passes on the glow to my body, thank you. This was the time they were giving away uranium with chemistry kits so no thanks you!
ReplyDeleteEvery bit of this art is nuts, straight up. Look at anytime there's string, that's rendered incredibly well.
The last panel: Look at the scroll work on the side of the fireplace. Look at how the chair cushions deform, the dog, the pajamas. It's nuts. That's incredibly fine detail work.
The one with the kid waving outside? Is that frost on the window? Man. That's a crazy amount of work.
The satisfied dreamer in the last illustration is an AEET reader with visions of sugar plums and hopes for a new year of entries from ol' Saint Karswell dancing in his head.

ReplyDeleteThey shouldn't'na oughta doubted his plan!
>That's a crazy amount of work.
And for a throw away catalog too. Good thing nobody threw it away!
>hopes for a new year of entries from ol' Saint Karswell dancing in his head
Haha, thank ya kindly Doc. I'll keep things active around here as long as people continue to swing by and comment and basically just let me know that I'm still relevant in this world. Happy holidays everyone :)
