The Female Blue Beard

More classic crime creeps on the loose, and once again highlighted by the awesome art of deadly Dick Briefer --see our previous post HERE! It's another sick 'n twisted "true" tale of brutal "Bluebeard" styled terror, this time with a ferocious female fiend in the lead-- and this time from the May 1944 issue of Crime Does Not Pay #33.

  1. Beautiful woman options: (1) marry a rich man (2) be a model (3) bowl with human bones.

I like Briefer's good girl art here, the hint of nudity (gasp) on the splash and page 2, panel 1. Skulls and bones are great, too.

Story is a bit short and feels rushed, but Page 3, don't know about that layout! Still a fun story with nice art.

  2. That's quite a swing Marie put into the stabbing of Victim Number One. With that amount of strength and flexibility she could have just been, I don't know, a professional gymnast instead of a professional murderess.

I like the "I just want...a glass of water" line.

  3. If she had been a gymnast she would've probably survived that fall from the roof too.

  4. Holy felis ex machina! That's some turn of events! It's bad luck to cross that path, lady.

  5. See, now where she went wrong was with the poison. Liquid poison is far too blasé. It was time to upgrade to a poisoned lipstick... one little ol' smooch and... *drags thumb across neck* Keeeeeeek!

  6. Haha, “keeeeeek!” indeed!

Good to see some of you finding your way over here to AEET, until the upload sizing issues are resolved with blogger, I’ll be just posting here for now on, I suppose. And once again, thanks for the comments :)
