More fun key art from the same March 1958 issue of Real For Men (see the previous two posts), all created by "Hess" and part of a chapter titled, "The Real Almanac" which acted as a monthly supplement of assorted, permanent, and ever useful information articles.
The young woman polishing the furniture in the clever house cutaway illustration looks like Betty Rubble. I love this guy's cartooning. I really enjoy the use of dotted lines as clothing wrinkles, though I wasn't sure what Hess was trying to tell me about that guy's successful date.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite image is probably the moneybags guy.

ReplyDeleteI'm guessing he was successful in getting her to leave her "door open" for him.
Thats some cute stuff!!
ReplyDeleteWait, what IS the secret of the successful date? Don't tease us like that! Is it sticking my nose in her eye while dancing? Tell me!
ReplyDeleteI think that Hess is Lowell Hess. His style varies, but the signature on his work looks the same.
