I found this really neat, (but really short) Monsters pop-up book in a huge pile of junk at Goodwill the other day. This only goes to show-- if you keep digging through life's garbage, (or even someone else's) eventually, you might just strike gold! There are absolutely no artistic credits given anywhere on the book, though the back cover says there are 3 other titles in this colorful mini 80's series: Dragons, Dinosaurs, and Unicorns.
That Dracula / Wolf-Man spread is solid gold. Not that there's anything wrong with that mad science-heavy Frankenstein, either. But the last ones, wow, I'd be tempted to frame that and hang it on the wall.
ReplyDeleteI might just do that!
ReplyDeleteThis is WONDERFUL.
ReplyDeleteKarswell, If you know anyone who is skilled in the use of 3 D printing, the Dracula/Wolf-Man layout would make a stunning statue fitting for any monster kid's desk. The Frankenstein/Zombie layout would also be impressive.
ReplyDeleteAny followers of this blog or THOIA with skill in 3 D printing up to the challenge?
Damn, those are cool. And you found the book with the pop-ups intact and in nice condition, too. What a find!
ReplyDeleteShame it's so short. Who published it?
Cool! I'm partial to the Frank/Zombie combo myself.
ReplyDeletewe received this book and the Dragons as a gift for my then 8 year old, we might have the Dinosaur one, as well... he's almost 25 now and as I taught him to treat his books kindly they are still in nice condition, they really are little jewels
