We return with the second half of Humpty Dumpty's Mix and Fix Cook Book (1972), see previous post for the first half! --and hopefully you guys can handle this follow-up helping of fun and food, because the cutesy wootsy factor is seriously cutesy-wootsified 10-fold! So while you all tempt your taste buds with waffles and pudding and pink lemonade, (and good luck resisting a reindeer that radly rocks on cello!), I'll be taking a dip in the Tutti-Fruit Float pond, but with one minor modification-- hot dogs instead of bananas!!! SOS indeed! Hope you guys liked this one :)
jesus christ there is just plain rampant cutification going on here. a little smiling bee drinking the honey drink from a straw?!?!? a penguin reclining on an ice cube with a beverage?!?!?! smiling fruits and kitties and doggies everywhere (plus a little doggie drinking from the tutti-frutti float pond with a straw)?!?!! egads this is so freaking cute!!!
ReplyDeleteof course i love the tropical girls and her tropical record player! but man the whole Pudding Cone scene and the waffle picnic are both just so freaking great!
i may join you in the hot dog water pond but only if i can have the waffle picnic nearby.
and that last illustration where Lucy is trying to find the picnic is hilarious!
Only 2 li'l bunnies...
ReplyDeletebut love the smiling fruits.
So Tusan wins.
Yes, waffle picnic by the Tutti Fruit pond, with extra bunnies too! We can all discuss the thing standing on the snowman's hat. What is it? Cuz I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI really love the very first one with the artist, but nothing beats that monkey's checkerboard pants.
ReplyDeleteI really think I might try the Valentine Apple Juice next month.
ReplyDeleteI think we should all wear checkerboard pants to Bob's Valentine Apple Juice party next month! Can't wait!!
ReplyDeleteTutti-Fruti Float, page 14, the peeled banana floating on an inner tube deserves an honorable mention in the cutest of all drawings in this book.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! But remember, I changed the bananas to hot dogs, --which is of course MUCH CUTER! :)
ReplyDeleteBut peeled hot dogs make me cross my legs.
ReplyDelete"Sipping allowed"
ReplyDeletePlease resd CAREFULLY!
OMGoodness!!! I've forgotten how adorable this book really is. The Yummy Lemon-Orange Cooler has stolen my heart!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this.
P.S. I believe I posted all the pages in that Ballentine booklet. I'll have to check for sure though.
I'll pinning at least one of these pages. I already pinned the cover:)
It's "read" carefully, of course.
ReplyDeleteAnd no need to explain such a stupid joke!
Thanks Louise! I've been having fun going through your archive over the last few days, great stuff you have posted there! :)
ReplyDeleteGotcha, JD!
Okay J.D you're all linked up!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I'm going to be doing a Cookbook Wednesday Round-up at the end of the month. I'll drop by to let you know when it is up.
Now, it's my turn to do some exploring:)
Thanks, Louise... and noticing from a few of your comments, I do believe you have me and JD confused somehow, Karswell is Aka Mr Karswell, aka Steve Banes :)
