The Lively Life

Time for another 60's barguide from Southern Comfort. Packed with great illustrations and playful photography, I can totally think of a better way to stay warm this winter than by boozin' it up (try go-go dancing!), --but for those of you with "the thirst", I'm sure you'll enjoy the recipes just as well. Longtime followers of this blog already know this, but if you want to see a half dozen more home bartender guides just like this one that I've posted over the years, then click HERE! (Apologies for the wavy, water-logged scans-- pretty sure someone spilled a drink on this copy years ago.)

  1. I'm always a little freaked out by the manic intensity with which these models appear to be having fun. They'll sweat blood bullets of high octane desperate life-or-death fun or they'll die trying, by god!

  2. Well I'd rather be at a party with these maniacs than sitting around with a buncha bummerooz cryin in their booze

  3. The crying usually comes after the manic partying down.

And I'm pretty sure that exaggeration is the sincerest form of advertisement. At least the advertisers seem to think so.

As usual I love the teeny drinks. And the teeny dancing people of course! But is that lady on the beach using a teeny portable tv as a coaster for her drink?!?!?! I approve!

  4. I'd love to own a whole set of those tall lemon cooler glasses. Or really any other glassware example on that page.

  5. I just wanna dance with a girl who has a beehive hairdo.
