Summer is Over...
I meant to post this 40's Novo Laugh greeting card last weekend on the actual last day of summer (September 21st) but I've been in Chicago... anyway, as "winter drawers" on I have a lot of good stuff lined up to finish out 2013, especially this Halloween season. I hope everyone is ready for spook overload-- and I also hope to hear from more people (the "why don't you write?" in the Novo card applies to the comments section too) --I'm definitely itching to hear from you!
You know, I always did want one of those red union suits with the butt flap. I'm pretty sure I would never in my life concede to wear the damn thing--no matter how cold it got--but I kind of like knowing that, along with seersucker suits and leather chaps, such a timeless staple of classy menswear might still exist in somebody's closet.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I'd wear it, it gets awfully cold here in the Midwest... itchy or not, winters drawers on-- or off!
ReplyDeletei'd totally wear one! but not an itchy one. they make cotton union suits and silk ones and they even make them in black! but i never get that cold here.

ReplyDeleteSeeing it in so many cartoons, I suppose I thought of it as something old people wore anyway and never thought of wanting one at all, now as I'm up there in age, you do have second thoughts!
